• 真的很難過, 想起兩三個小時前莫名其妙的跑去酒窖拿了支Ardbeg 1975 C#4703上來, 算算時間應該還正是消息剛出來的時候, Ardbe 黑色的基調彷彿在悼念大師, 也許冥冥中大師正想跟我乾這杯酒吧! 敬大師.

• 若有所失的晨陽

  早上和老婆換手陪小朋友睡覺後，拿著摩斯漢堡開了電腦，Express裡傳來k大的信，冷冷的感覺透著窗外即將炙熱的陽光。
  
  是的，手上沒有whisky，以茶代酒，向帶領我進入威士忌世界的書本中的老師致敬。

• 還記得K兄在某次聚會中提及曾在日本東京酒展遇見大師，而那段描述也成為我對大師唯一鮮明生動的印象！今早聽聞大師驟逝的消息，除了驚訝，也有絲絲的遺憾，面見大師的期待也成為不可能了!

• 打開mail嚇了一跳,回想起幾年在香港逛書店看到WHISKY這本書,沈甸甸的重量,讓我考量了很久,要不要帶本厚重的書回台灣?原本想翻些有興趣的部份看就好,但是一翻就看了快2小時,欲罷不能,最後決定放棄購買春季新裝,在有限的空間裡把書裝進行李箱....後來,覺得,當初的決定真好,能藉大師之手探尋威士忌的美麗~~真是有點感傷....

  非常遺憾聽到這樣的消息...
  
  之前原本還熱切期盼著大師鉅作《威士忌全書》中文版的即將問世
  沒料到書還未印行，哲人身影已遠....
  
  一如Kingfisher所說...
  
  此刻，只能默哀，舉杯，敬大師！
  
  一路好走，天堂裡，應有無數醉人的好威士忌為伴吧.....

• The funeral is on Friday 14th September at 1.30 at the Mortlake Crematorium.
  
  It is a very small affair for family and friends and neighbours from the
  
  area around Michael's home and the pub etc.
  
  There is hope for a much larger memorial event later in the year.

  Hello all
  
  Just to report briefly that Michael's funeral took place last Friday.
  A touching, sometimes amusing, ceremony. No hymns, no religion, just
  jazz music (chosen by MJ) and tributes read by family and friends.
  Martine couldn't attend so hers was read by Ian Wisniewski. We
  entered to the sounds of John Coltrane and left to the sounds of Ben
  Webster and Coleman Hawkins. Drinks afterwards at the Fuller's
  brewery. Even now though it is hard to believe he is gone.
